Parliament Gardens

 

This would have to be one of my favourite places on the outskirts of the city. There is a City Circle stop right out the front of the big gates of the entry to Parliament Gardens. There are giant shady trees on the perimeter of the park which make it a great place for a picnic. And the Coles Fountain is a a great place to cool off, you can step inside without getting wet (unless it's a windy day or you want to!)
