This is where I saw my first Tassie Devil. And I’m a little disappointed in how recently it was. Being Zoos Victoria members and making full use of that membership is how we found ourselves at Healesville Sanctuary for the first time. There were pram friendly walking tracks and there was so much to see. We took some sandwiches and ate them in one of the shelters at the zoo.

Here are our tips:

  • You can not miss the Sprits of the Sky show. Show times are 12pm and 2.30pm daily and free with your admission. If you do miss the show you, you can get your bird fix in the Land of Parrots

  • The boys really loved walking through the kangaroos, even though they liked to keep their distance

  • There is a great playground where the kids can burn off some energy before the drive home

  • The Platypus exhibit is amazing. I think I could have spent hours in there just watching them swim around… although the boys like to move at a bit of a quicker pace.

  • The Tassie Devils- they aren’t as commonly seen at other zoos so I really enjoyed seeing them
